The past few days have been tumultuous to say the least. Our beautiful city of Columbia had taken day after day of endless rain that finally culminated in the past few days of record setting rainfalls. These rainfalls triggered catastrophic flooding in many areas. Dams broken, homes destroyed, roads washed out, power lost, and water contaminated.
We have been fortunate. None of our therapist’s homes sustained damage. Our clinic was unharmed. However many of our client families have been uprooted from their homes, or stuck without power or water. Some of the organizations that we serve are temporarily shut down while repairs are made.
The beautiful thing that we are seeing about our home is the outpouring of support from neighbors. We are so grateful to be a part of this community and are working hard to offer our support to those in need while continuing to serve our families.
We are keeping everyone in our thoughts and hoping for a quick rebuild. If there is any way that we can support you or your family, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Oh, Natalie, I am so sorry to see these pictures of devastation, but am glad to hear that you and your therapists are ok. Is there anything that we as a music therapy community can do to help?
We are well! Thank you for asking! Miraculously unaffected.
