Key Changes has a substantially large open door policy.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately in regards to how it defines me as a therapist and as a business. It can be thought of, I suppose, as part of my branding, but to me, it’s just common sense and good business!
I encourage (and expect) the caregivers of the people I work with to come to me with any and all questions, concerns, and updates. Children are often unable to verbalize the important things, and my knowing them enables me to do the best job that I can. If another therapist changed direction in treatment, it can be helpful for me to know.
Even the simple triumphs of the day can help me to provide above and beyond services.
I get the sense from many that this policy is unusual. I want to know the person I work with, as well as the people they are surrounded by.
Share with me: Do you like my policy? Does it intimidate you? Do you utilize something similar, or know of someone who does?
